Reasons we should strive towards gender equality

We believe that giving both males and females across the world equal opportunities to achieve success, the world at large will benefit greatly. Poverty across countries will be effectively reduced and less developed countries are likely to become more affluent as women are given more chances to make their own contribution to their countries’ economies and in turn the overall standard of living for the entire population will increase. This video we chose clearly illustrates and sums up why we believe that gender equality is indeed extremely important in our world today

Who are we? – A Self Introduction

Hi there!

Many of you might be wondering: What exactly is BoysforGirls about?

We are a self-funded educational group aimed at raising public awareness of gender-related inequalities. Our goal is to promoting a heightened understanding and grasp of societal issues that women and men alike face in status quo.

Nomenclaturely inspired by the HeforShe movement, which is a United Nations initiated campaign recently founded in 2014, we aim to promote greater human rights for the often neglected faction of society. In addition, we hope to inspire greater policy reforms. We believe that concrete action is a necessary step in instigating greater societal change. Crucial hence, is the re-education and amendment of the methodology used in regards to this highly sensitive issue that we would like to bring forth today. We believe that it is only with greater awareness and action taken, would the stigmatisation of women be lifted, and gender equity and justice be served.

This website would address the pertinent issues pertaining to Gender Inequality in the Twenty-First Century, as well as the multiple attempts at solving this issue. In the public sphere, we will be looking at populist movement brought about by the public. A point in blank is the Women’s March of 2017, which was held in protests to US President Donald Trump’s inauguration and his strong political stances to which many felt opposed women and belittled their capabilities. Other issues that we will cover in our blog is the Feminist Movement and the #MeToo movement.
